Send the Rain plot

Erika, a young entertainer from Vancouver with Okinawan-Canadian roots, takes an unexpected road trip to the British Columbia countryside: her stubborn grandmother Oba refuses to leave the family farm as wildfires approach. As Erika tries to convince her, memories surface—from Oba's departure from Okinawa during the war to Erika's mother's youth and picking strawberries. Despite urgent phone calls from her sister Hanna, Erika must confront her bond with the farm.
