Sekai no Okiku plot

Japan in the Edo period. Two vagrants earn their living as so-called manure men: they make manure from the excrement of local tenants and sell it to the local farmers. Okiku is the only daughter of a fallen samurai and a fruitful love story unfolds among the heaps of muck.
