"Can a man really change?"
12-year-old Marty and his family try to help Shiloh's previous owner, Judd Travers, after he tried to ransom himself after a near-fatal accident involving his truck. Marty and his family give Judd the benefit of the doubt, as they sincerely believe he can put his bad past behind him. But the rest of the townspeople firmly believe that Judd will never change. Hoping to save Judd's other dogs, such as Shiloh, Marty helps Judd by tending to all of his animals. But when Judd is suspected of murdering a man who disappeared some time ago, Marty fears he's put himself and Shiloh in terrible danger.
