Saigo no Chushingura plot
A group of 47 ronin samurai murder high-ranking Kira Yoshinaka in a legendary looting spree to avenge their executed master and restore his honor. They know full well that this action will force them to commit seppuku (suicide). Terasaka Kichiemon, however, is ordered by the group leader Oishi Kuranosuke to secretly escape so that the facts of the incident will be passed on to posterity. However, Senoo Magozaemon flees the night before the robbery, becoming a pariah and a coward who must hide. Sixteen years after the incident, the two men meet again.
