Running against the Wind plot
Abdi and Solomon grow up together in a village in Ethiopia. They lose sight of each other as they each pursue their own dream. Abdi wants to participate in the Olympics as a runner, just like his idol Haile Gebrselassie, who won Olympic gold twice. Solomon, inspired by a European photographer he happened to meet, travels to the capital Addis Ababa. There, however, he ends up in poverty and petty crime. At a pivotal moment in their lives, fate reunites the two childhood friends.
