Romy Schneider (Jessica Schwarz) can no longer hear or see the role of Sissi, the role that made her famous in the 1950s. In France she finally gets character roles with international appeal. She works there with Luchino Visconti and Orson Welles and she enjoys life with Alain Delon (Guillaume Delorme), who unfortunately abandons her. And her marriages to the theater maker Harry Meyen and the secretary Daniel Biasini also fail. Romy Schneider is a woman torn by doubts and plagued by desire.
