Redland plot

A family lives an isolated life in rural Northern California during the Great Depression. Mary-Ann, the daughter in the family, has to contend with a very strict father, yet she secretly maintains a relationship with Charlie. Due to the food shortage, the men are forced to hunt deep in the forests. Mary-Ann's father and her brother Job are joined by Charlie during the hunt, which leads to tension between them.
