Protektor plot
Czech journalist Emil is recruited by a Prague radio station, which broadcasts Nazi propaganda. He must have none of the Nazi ideas, because he is married to the Jewish Hana. He accepts the job as a newscaster on the condition that his wife is not harassed. Hana had just broken through as an actress and is now under house arrest, which means that her short-lived career has already ended. Her relationship with Emil deteriorates rapidly as the war progresses and Emil as a newsreader becomes more popular with the German occupiers.
