Possession plot

Beth learns that her oil tycoon father Lance Wheless has passed away. Her stepmother Hedda inherits everything but his ranch. Beth then drags her husband Daniel from New York to Texas. There they encounter a dilapidated ranch, strange documents and an ominous stranger who shows a lot of interest in the possession of the surrounding land.
