Poisonous Roses plot
22-year-old Saqr wants to flee the dingy Egyptian tanner neighborhood where he lives and works. His 28-year-old sister Taheya wants to prevent this at all costs. She sabotages the blossoming romance between her brother and a medical student and also tries to thwart Saqr's plans for the future as a boat refugee in Italy. Every day she delivers Saqr a freshly prepared lunch, implying that he will starve without her care.
