Players plot
Center Court, Wimbledon. The young Chris Christensen and title holder Guillermo Vilas are getting ready for the grand final. One seat remains free in the stands and that is a huge disappointment for Chris. Nicole, the only woman who has played an important role in his life, did not show up. During that most important game of his career, images of his debut and his unusual rise to the top flash before Chris. At the age of ten, he and his best friend had set up a perfect system to capitalize on his tennis talent. Later, Rusty and Chris traveled from one tournament to another, making money each time betting with unsuspecting spectators. It wasn't until Chris meets the mysterious Nicole and she confronts him with his unattractive self that he decides to give it all and work on a professional career. The great Pancho Gonzales becomes his mentor and his coach.
