Pedro Páramo plot

Pedro Páramo tells the story of Comala, a small town in rural Mexico. The first story follows Juan Preciado and his journey to Comala after the death of his beloved mother in an attempt to find his long-lost father, Pedro Páramo. But instead of the lush, fertile town of his mother Dolores’ memories, he finds Comala deserted, parched, and filled with ghosts. In the second story, set in the distant past and told largely in the third person, the impoverished farmer Pedro Páramo manipulates and terrorizes the people of Comala until he seizes near-absolute power over the town.
