Pan plot
Lieutenant Thomas Glahn spends the summer in the far north of Norway in a small fishing village, where he meets Edvarda, the young daughter of merchant Mack, when he occasionally returns to civilization to do some shopping due to loneliness. Edvarda falls in love with the young soldier. Although it is reciprocal, and Edvarda visits him at night, it never gets beyond a kiss.
