Oedipus the King plot

This film adaptation of the classic Greek story by Sophocles is about the young nobleman Oedipus. There is a plague in Thebes, which according to the oracle is a retribution for the murder of King Laius. Oedipus, Laius's son and successor, does everything in his power to find the culprits, but old Tiresias confronts him with the facts. A prophecy that Oedipus must kill his father and marry his mother turns out to have everything to do with it.
