O Delfim plot
In the fascist Portugal of the late 1960s, Palma Bravo, a wealthy landowner, leads a carefree life of hunting, drinking and enjoying himself. He owns everything and everyone around him, including a large lagoon, his servants and his beautiful wife Maria das Mercês, whom he leaves isolated in their house when he returns to Lisbon. A hunter, who is also a detective, returns to the lagoon every year to hunt for ducks. A year later, he discovers that Domingos, Palma Bravo's most loyal servant, has been found dead in the couple's bed, while Maria das Mercês has been found floating in the lagoon.
