My Father's Scent plot
Omar returns to Alexandria after a long treatment in Cairo, far away from where his two sons live. His return coincides with the holy celebration of Eid Al Adha, during which sheep are sacrificed. This social tradition has both a religious value and a visual impact. Everything contrasts between festivities, exuberant traditions and the expected worries and sorrows of the small family. His youngest son Amr is 18 and still lives in the parental home. He feels alienated from his family and separated from their reality. He feels especially abandoned and alienated from his distant father, who is almost 70 years old.
