Mr. Ace plot

Margaret Wyndham wants to run for governor and asks Eddie Ace, the local political pacesetter and petty criminal, to support her election. Ace's belief, however, is that beautiful women and politics don't mix and he refuses to help Margaret. She decides to play the game bold and tough without Ace, but he turns out to be even tougher, prompting Margaret to withdraw from the race. But Ace, meanwhile, has fallen in love with her and he does some dirty manipulations behind the scenes to get Margaret back into the election successfully.
