Midlothia plot

Fred is about to leave the hopeless city where he lives. However, he does not show up to his own farewell party. Instead, he takes a nighttime walk and receives an epiphany that makes him change his mind and decide to stay. His decision angers his friends and ex-fiancée, as they had just struggled to emotionally process his impending departure. But Fred's new insights affect them in ways they don't quite realize yet.
