Menteur plot

Menteur tells the story of Antoine, a young man who simply wants to be accepted by his family. He has been considered an idiot for many years. One day he has had enough and he wants to prove to his family that he can succeed in life. He begins to look for work well beyond his abilities as a salesman in a hardware store. It is clear from the start that Antoine will never achieve his goal, because he is really not smart. But he no longer has a choice. The job search has become a hopeless quest, an ultimate attempt not to suffocate in what remains unspoken, a cry for help in the silent emptiness of the middle class.
