Mateo plot
Sixteen-year-old Mateo collects extortion money from shopkeepers in Barrancabermeja for his uncle, who is a local mobster. With this he tries to supplement his mother's meager income. To prove himself, Mateo infiltrates a theater group to expose their political activities. Overwhelmed by the creative lifestyle of the players, he finds himself in conflict with himself when his uncle keeps demanding that he come up with incriminating material.
