Liberty plot

The sculptor Bartholdi and the author De Laboulaye decide in 1886 to donate a monument to the United States on behalf of the French people: the Statue of Liberty. The process of looking for models and the construction of the image itself are highlighted. Among the people helping with the construction is the blacksmith Jacque Marchant, who falls in love with the poet Emma Lazarus, who provides the poem for the pedestal.
