Le Mie Prigioni plot
Milan, October 1820. The writer and patriot Pellico is arrested in a count's house, brought to Venice, roughly interrogated and thrown into prison. He manages to escape with other patriots and they hide in the fortress of Spielberg in Czechoslovakia. In August 1830, the Emperor pardons him and he returns to Italy with the patriots Andrea Tonelli and Piero Maroncelli. In Mantua they part ways and Pellico goes to Milan. On the border of Piedmont and Lombardy, he is captured by paramilitary police and taken to Novara. In 1832 he writes Le Mie Prigioni.
