Khlib plot
A demobilized Red Army soldier returns to his village. Inspired by collectivism, he works a piece of land for the commune and sows the land with seeds he has confiscated from the kulaks in the village. His father, a traditional man with a pantheistic philosophy, believes that sin manifests itself in material things. He is convinced that the stolen seed will not sprout on the stolen land.
