Kamerdyner plot
The film is set between 1900 and 1945. The focus is on the Prussian von Krauss family who live in the Puck region, as well as the love between the Kashubian boy Mateusz and the German aristocrat Marita. The plot outlines the complicated fate of three nations inhabiting the former Polish-German border region of northern Kashubia, where the Versailles border line after World War I divided not only the country, but also the population of Germans, Kashubians, and Poles, which led to riots and often hatred. The story spans four decades and shows the complex attitudes and choices people have to make here.
