Jugendweihe plot
Every spring, eighth grade pupils in the GDR receive the so-called 'Jugendweihe' (acceptance) and are then included in 'the circle of adults'. This year Tim is ready. For him and his classmates, the day starts with a ceremony at the cultural center. Afterwards, he and his whole family go to a restaurant to celebrate the event. On this big day for him, the Western family members react with varying feelings. The big car, photos from the holidays in Italy and Spain, their home. How does the boy react to that luxury?
