Il Sud È Niente plot
The story is set in Calabria, a small seaside town (on the Strait of Messina), where an Italian family has lost a son. At the center is Grazia, a seventeen-year-old girl who is deeply burdened by the loss of her beloved brother Pietro. Her father runs a fishmonger but is urged by local stakeholders to sell it and move, preferably north where there are more opportunities. Grazia observes her father's troubles, but is also tormented by her own grief. Pietro is never out of her mind.
