Il Cristo Proibito plot

On his return to his native village after the end of the Second World War, ex-prisoner Bruno Baldi wants to avenge the death of his brother, who was executed by the Germans after being betrayed by a fellow villager. The villagers want to forget the horrors of the war as soon as possible and nobody wants to blame them. In the end it is Antonio, a carpenter, who claims to have been the snitch. Bruno kills him, but just before the man dies he says he lied just to protect the true culprit.
