Hi ga Ochiru plot

In Edo, Kyūzō, a vassal of the shogun, is condemned to suicide for an insignificant but unforgivable mistake: he has made a scratch on his lord's bow. Time stands still in his house: Kyūzō staggers, his wife prepares the ceremony while protecting their son, and the maid refuses to abandon them. Kyūzō has only a few hours left: will he be guided by his honor, or will life catch up with him?
