"An Experiment With Truth"
On the way to the hospital, an ambulance gets involved in riots in the city. Saket Ram, 89 years old, is dying. He remembers working with his friend Amjad Ali Khan as an archaeologist on excavations in Karachi in the 1940s with Mortimer Wheeler. Saket Ram is married to Aparna Ram and lives in Calcutta, a city where there are many unrest and riots. One evening Saket rescues a girl from a group of Muslims. The Muslims want revenge. They invade Saket Ram's house and rape and kill his wife. Saket Ram sees Gandhi's non-violence as the cause of all misery and traumatized, he joins an anti-Gandhi group.
