Hermafrodita plot

In the 1960s, in a small village in the Dominican Republic, Maria, a hermaphrodite, was born. She is raised by her grandmother in a racist environment. She experiences her first love with La Melaza, a murderer who seeks refuge in her village. Her childhood best friend Wanda tries to drive the two apart through her jealousy and love for Maria. Maria's life takes a very different turn when La Melaza discovers her double sexuality.
