"As Shocking as an EXTRA!"
Ned Powers, publisher of a local newspaper, joins inexperienced reporter David Flynn with veteran journalist Hugh "Woody" Woodruff, because he has been disappointed with Woodruff's work lately. David has long been a admirer of Woodruff, but he too is saddened by the latter's cynical and unprofessional attitude. Woodruff, for his part, tries to cure David of his idealism and this is also the reason he is going to leave the newspaper world. David tries to save Woodruff's reputation by covering a sensational murder case under his name. David still tries to bring Woodruff into his investigation, not only to solve the murder, but also to save Woodruff's journalism career.
