Harrigan's Kid plot
"THE TRACK IS FAST! THE RACE IS FIXED THE INSIDE OF THE RACING GAME!"
Tom Harrigan raised the orphan Benny McNeil to be a first-class jockey. Tom, however, has failed to keep Benny's ego in check. When Benny receives too many reprimands for unsportsmanlike conduct from the race committee, Tom decides to sell his contract to Walter Garnet before he, too, gets into trouble. However, Garnet seems to have a positive influence on Benny.
