Handel's Last Chance plot

In 1742, James (Tod Fennell), a street urchin, is enrolled in Dublin by his desperate mother (Seana McKenna) at a boarding school. James feels like an outsider there. The situation seems to change when James is chosen by George Friedrich Handel to sing "the Messiah" in his oratorios. James befriends the famous composer, who suffers from a temporary inferiority complex. When James is falsely accused of wrongdoing, the composer comes to his rescue. Ultimately, the premiere of "the Messiah" proves to be a huge success, restoring Handel to his rightful place in the music world.
