Halbe Treppe plot

Film about two couples in their late thirties and the ups and downs in their relationship. They live in Frankfurt on the Oder, near the Polish border. Uwe and Ellen are working hard and hardly see each other. Their friends Chris and Kathi are doing slightly better professionally and relationally. One day, Ellen and Chris begin an affair. They try to break out of their stalled relationships. When the bomb bursts, desperation is the result.
