Haken Anime! plot

Japan's anime industry is huge, with 200 new TV series and two trillion yen in sales per year. The sweet-natured yet strong-willed Hitomi Saito has climbed the ranks over the past seven years and is about to direct a series for the first time. At the same time, the difficult and undeniably brilliant Chiharu Oji returns to the profession after ten years. The hit series that made Oji famous is what inspired Saito to start anime. Her goal is to surpass Oji's success and relevance. Her chance has now come, but their series are both slated to debut in the same timeslot. After Saito challenges her rival onstage at an anime convention, the two production teams try to outdo each other.
