Ha-Sodot plot
'The Secrets' tells the story of the devout Naomi, the daughter of an influential ultra-Orthodox rabbi, and her quest for individuality. To postpone the arranged marriage to one of her father's students, Naomi convinces her father to send her to a Jewish women's seminary in Safed. There she meets the rebellious Michelle. At first they dislike each other, but they become attracted to each other when Michelle takes an obsessive interest in the beautiful mysterious Anouk. Anouk is ill, and is said to have committed a 'crime passionnel'. Based on her knowledge of the kabbalah, Naomi devises a series of rituals that could purify Anouk from her sins. The attraction between the two girls grows when they have to keep the rituals secret due to Jewish law.
