Guilty of Treason plot
The film is about the trial, for high treason, against Cardinal Mindszenty of Hungary. The Roman Catholic Mindszhenty spoke out during World War II against the German occupation and against the communist regime that followed after the war. Mindszenty was arrested, tortured and initially released, but was later prosecuted by fleeing to the US embassy in Budapest. This film tells the story of his trial and the circumstances he found himself in when he was interrogated.
