Arthur Chipping (Peter O'Toole) is a young master who does everything by the books, in a British boys' school in the 1920s. He falls in love with a singer Katherine Bridges (Petula Clark), who dies in the war years. Arthur survives the blow by dedicating himself to his young students. A musical remake of the 1939 version.
