Goethe! plot
The young, hitherto failed poet Johann Goethe, fails his law studies and is banished by his angry father to a state court in a sleepy town. He falls in love with the young Lotte and later witnesses her engagement to his superior counselor Kestner. Johann even wants to enter a duel with Kestner for Lotte and ends up in prison as a result. But he doesn't give up: he puts his and Lotte's history on paper for her and the longest love letter in the world becomes his novel 'Die Leiden des jungen Werther'. And Johann thus becomes the first star of literature in Europe...
