Justin, a US Navy veteran, struggles with physical and emotional scars from the war he just returned from. Now he has a new struggle to find meaning in everyday life. In addition to studying part-time at the local college, he works at a lumber mill, where he finds support from his boss Paul, a Vietnam veteran. At school he befriends Cheri.
