In a nameless town in America, the air is filled with the smell of barbecue when the Fourth of July celebration takes place. Joe is a man who works hard and travels a lot. He leaves his family behind on the holiday for a business trip. Abigayle, his independent daughter, has to take care of her ailing mother and the house, once again. Looking for someone to help her through her night of lonely responsibilities, she turns to Dexter, a former high school basketball star.
