Floating Life plot
"Moving East to West has turned their lives...upside down"
The Chan family is from Hong Kong. Father and mother are about to emigrate to Australia with their two youngest sons. Daughter Bing has lived there for seven years and has become a real Australian: successful and addicted to her work. She also wants to make real Australians out of her brothers; the boys have to abide by her rules. Yen, the eldest daughter, lives with her German husband and daughter in Germany. She makes a lot of phone calls with her mother in Australia and worries about her. Gar Ming, the eldest son, has stayed in Hong Kong for the time being to sell the family home. But he still has doubts about emigrating. When Yen visits Australia, it's a welcome distraction for the whole family, except for Bing, who becomes increasingly entangled between two cultures.
