Final Appointment plot
Sensation journalist Mike Billings discovers that for three years in a row, exactly on July 10, a former military officer has died. The common thread turns out to be that they all took part in a court martial in Africa during the Second World War. Three soldiers were sentenced to five years for theft of army equipment. The fourth and last remaining soldier, Inspector Corcoran, is already receiving threatening letters.
