El Apando plot
"A prison system that does not regenerate, it degenerates."
At Lecumberri Prison, three drug-addicted inmates hatch a plan to get the mother of one of them to smuggle drugs into the prison. Their plan works, but when they celebrate, they are discovered and imprisoned in 'El Apando', a punishment cell. Protests over the incarceration of the three prisoners lead to a bloody confrontation. Based on Jose Revueltas' autobiographical novel.
