Double Door plot
"The Female of the Species is More Deadly Than the Male!"
New York, 1910. Rich spinster Victoria Van Brett rules with an iron hand both the family fortune and the lives of her younger sister Caroline and her half-brother Rip. When Rip wants to marry the nurse Anne Darrow, who saved his life, Victoria does everything she can to ruin this marriage. She assumes that Anne is only marrying Rip for the money. First, Victoria steals Rip's wedding present, his mother's pearls, because she thinks he shouldn't give them away. She then secretly writes to Rip from the will.
