Die Schauspielerin plot

Berlin 1933. The actress Maria Rheine loves her Jewish colleague Mark Löwenthal. After his dismissal, all that remains for him is the Jewish Theater. While Maria, on the other hand, can work as an 'Aryan' on any stage in the country. For a while, the two lose sight of each other. Only when the Nuremberg Racial Laws are enacted does Mary take a momentous step: she fakes her suicide and now lives as a so-called Jewish at the side of Mark...
