Die Abrechnung plot

19-year-old Klara wants to buy cigarettes for her father, the newspaper reporter Robert Kurzeck, but she walks right under the car of the construction contractor Karl-Heinz Haessler. She was so badly injured that she died of her injuries in hospital. Haessler, who has just come from his lover, commits a hit-and-run. It is precisely his sick son Benno who gets the kidney transplant of the deceased girl. Unable to get over his daughter's death, Kurzeck vows to track down the driver of the car that caused the accident.
