Deux plot
The film follows the different lives of a mother and her twin daughters Mary and Magdalene, who were separated at birth. Often their lives run parallel, sometimes they almost meet. They are devoid of maternal love and emotionally unstable. One is guided by her lesbian feelings, the other befriends a strange man who lives on the stage of an opera house. Both women are desperate for their roots, but find satisfaction only in impersonal sex and self-provoked drama.
