Das Siebente Jahr plot

The heart surgeon Dr. Barbara Heim has been married to Günther, a prominent actor, for seven years. They have a six year old daughter. Both spouses live for their profession, which demands great effort from them both mentally and physically. Despite the goodwill on both sides and the few moments the couple share together, they are not free from tension and find that their strengths are limited. The death of a child in the hospital makes Barbara question whether the exposure from the demanding work is destroying the family. Barbara sees how Günther compares her and other women. She seeks advice from friends and maybe she can still overcome this marital crisis...
