William Adams is a wealthy businessman married to the beautiful woman Dezire. Will's only unfulfilled wish is to have a child to continue his bloodline. After many failed attempts, he becomes desperate and increasingly obsessed with having a son. He quickly rejects all ideas of adoption, in vitro fertilization, and sperm donors who are not blood relatives. Will has no brothers, and the only one who comes close is his cousin Johnny, a charismatic, respected figure in the town. A plan is hatched to get Johnny to help, but Will soon realizes that this plan has serious consequences.
